Procon Engineering Through the Years

1975  Defiant Weighing Ltd was founded

1982 Negretti moved into the weighing business in 1982 with the acquisition of Fisher Industrial Controls who in turn had bought GEC Elliot, designers of the very first load cells in the 1950s.

1996 Procon Engineering AS Norway acquired Defiant Weighing Ltd which was renamed Procon Engineering Ltd (PEL)

1999 PEL acquired Inflo Control Systems Ltd (Beltweighers & Boiler Leak Detection Systems)

2000 PEL purchased the Weighing Division of Negretti Automation Ltd

2003 After a series of acquisitions National Oilwell Inc purchased Hydralift which included PEL

2004 Procon’s Service Division diversified into calibrating non-weigh equipment

2005 National Oilwell Inc merged with Varco International and formed National Oilwell Varco (NOV)

2006 Procon entered into a partnership with ETC/Urenco to produce turnkey solutions for the nuclear industry

2008 Triple Bridge Load pin development for Sellafield Sites began

2010 Procon Engineering became a division of National Oilwell Varco (UK) Ltd and the Procon Safety Critical EP52 Weigh Controller achieved Emphasis SIL 1 approval rating from Sellafield Ltd.

2018 Procon Engineering’s contracted serviced sites exceeded 392
