NOV’s Subsea Production Systems business unit has been awarded the ANP Technological Innovation Award 2024 in the category of Research, Development & Innovation for our Subsea Automated Pig Launcher for Deepwater (SAPL), in collaboration with TotalEnergies and Equinor. This award honors projects that drive technological advancements and industry transformation within the oil and gas sector.

The SAPL project, initiated in 2020, was chosen as one of three finalists from more than 35 entries in the Exploration and Production of Oil and Gas category.

The SAPL represents a significant advancement in subsea technology, designed to enhance operational efficiency in deepwater environments. It features an automated subsea pig launcher capable of launching pigs directly from the seabed in a single-line operation. This innovation aims to reduce costs and improve efficiency in subsea operations, minimizing the need for costly equipment and reducing downtime.

We are honored to receive this award. It reflects the dedication and expertise of our engineering team and our collaboration with TotalEnergies and Equinor. Despite the pandemic, our team's resilience and creativity have produced a solution that will significantly enhance deepwater oil and gas operations.
