NOV marks another successful deepwater buoy delivery to offshore West Africa
APL performance and BTL technology provide support for oil offloading
NOV successfully delivered another APL buoy turret loading (BTL) system to the Jubilee field in West Africa, which is located approximately 37 mi (60 km) off the coast of Ghana. The BTL delivery to the spread-moored floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit will allow commercial tankers to offload up to 1 million bbl of oil in 27 hours.
The BTL will operate in approximately 900 meters of water and will be connected to the FPSO by two 22-in. oil offloading risers. The BTL was delivered in less than 18 months from the contract award, and APL performed 200,000 man-hours without a single lost-time incident, which highlights an impressive safety culture and commitment to excellence.
