• Materials and Profiles

    To ensure a robust and uninterrupted service performance, it is paramount to select the material for each layer that best meets the given design conditions. Using our proprietary in-house design software package PipeFlex, we select the correct combination of materials by taking into consideration the specified service conditions, including chemical composition of the conveyed fluid, pressure, temperature, water depth, and a range of other factors that affect the flexible pipe design.

    Throughout the manufacturing processes, we enact exacting procedures to ensure full traceability of all materials used for the flexible pipe structure, including end-fittings. Thus, complete material and manufacturing records are included in the Manufacturing Data Book which we provide to the client upon completion of the project.



    An interlocking structure manufactured form a metallic strip. The carcass prevents collapse of the inner liner and provides mechanical protection against pigging tools and abrasive particles. 

    Inner liner
    An extruded polymer layer providing internal fluid integrity.

    Pressure armour
    A number of structural layers consisting of helically wound C-shaped metallic wires and/or metallic strips. The pressure armour layers provide resistance to radial loads.

    Tensile armour
    A number of structural layers consisting of helically wound flat metallic wires. The layers are counter wound in pairs. The tensile armour layers provide resistance to axial tension loads.

    Outer sheath
    An extruded polymer layer. The function is to shield the pipe's structural elements from the outer environment and to give mechanical protection.

    Anti-wear layer
    Non-metallic layers are incorporated in order to prevent wear and tear between the structural elements.

    Additional layers of material with low thermal conductivity can be applied in order to obtain specific thermal insulation properties of the pipe.
