NOV’s pressure pumping equipment featured in January E&P
North American shale has experienced an unprecedented surge in the past several years. As demand has grown, it has become clear that there is a greater need for hydraulic fracturing services. To meet this demand and establish a foothold in the changing land drilling market, Legend Energy Services purchased three full fleets of NOV fracturing equipment, allowing them to transition from being a coiled tubing-focused supplier to a complete hydraulic fracturing service provider.
The three fleets of fracturing equipment included pieces from our proven

product lines. As a single supplier, we provided a tailor-made, turnkey solution to meet Legend Energy Services’ exact specifications. We also leveraged a single software solution across the fleets to achieve reductions in complexity and training requirements and improve safety and data quality.
The fleets have been used on fracturing sites in Central/East Texas and South Texas, from the Eagle Ford to the Austin Chalk. The fleet’s versatility, combined with Legend Energy Service’s ability to provide coiled tubing services on the same site, has enabled use in broad environmental and geological conditions, reduced downtime, and eliminated the challenges of dealing with multiple service providers. Additional improvements to fracturing fleets and control systems, such as integration with Big Data solutions, will become available in the near future.
